1,424 people evacuated from Iran through Azerbaijan border so far-UPDATED-PHOTO

A total of 1,424 people were evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran via Azerbaijan from 08:00 on February 28 to 20:00 on March 5, APA reports.

The evacuees included 423 Chinese citizens, 273 Azerbaijani citizens, 262 Russian citizens, 138 Tajik citizens and 90 Pakistani citizens.

In addition, citizens of Oman (46), Italy (31), Spain (20), Saudi Arabia (18), Iran (11), Georgia (11), Brazil (8), Belarus (7), UAE (6), Slovakia (6), Serbia (5), Nigeria (5), Jordan (4), Kazakhstan (4), Switzerland (4) and Japan (4) were also evacuated via Azerbaijan.

Citizens of several other countries, including France, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Mexico and Croatia, are also among those evacuated.

It was reported that the evacuation process was carried out through Azerbaijani border crossing points.

From 08:00 on February 28 to 18:00 on March 5, a total of 1,341 people were evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

273 of those evacuated are citizens of Azerbaijan.

In addition, 402 citizens of China, 262 of Russia, 111 of Tajikistan, 88 of Pakistan, 46 of Oman, 20 of Spain, 18 of Saudi Arabia, 11 of Iran, 10 of Georgia, 8 of Brazil, 7 of Belarus, 6 of the UAE, 6 of Slovakia, 5 of Serbia, 5 of Nigeria, 4 of Jordan, 4 of Switzerland, 4 of Japan, 3 of Qatar, 3 of Bangladesh, 3 of Uzbekistan, 3 of France, 3 of Mexico, 3 of the Philippines, 3 of Kazakhstan, 3 of Türkiye, 3 of Croatia, 2 of Yemen, 2 of Nepal, 2 of Kyrgyzstan, 2 of Italy, 2 of the Czech Republic, and 2 of the United Kingdom were evacuated, as well as one citizen each from Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, Myanmar, the Maldives, South Africa, Cuba, Ukraine, Sweden, Germany, and Canada.
