Ferran Torres (66th minute) and Marquinhos (74th) scored for the winners. Angel Gomez (72nd) scored for the losers. In the 77th minute, Marseille captain Timothy Weah was sent off after receiving two yellow cards. Russian Matvey Safonov was in goal for PSG.
PSG has eight points and is sixth in the league table. Marseille suffered its fourth consecutive league defeat. The team is in second-to-last place, 17th, with three points.
In the next round, PSG will host Le Mans on October 10, and Marseille will play Troyes away a day later.
