The share of instant payments in Azerbaijan's National Payment System has increased from 2.4% to 54% over the past year, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Vusal Khalilov said during his speech at the 10th International Finance and Banking Summit held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, statistics for May show that instant payments already account for 54% of all transactions in the National Payment System.
He noted that the achieved result is the product of the Central Bank's policy and supervisory measures, technological development, and the joint efforts of market participants:
"In a short period of time, high-quality work has been delivered, and we expect the system's coverage to expand even further. Our goal is to increase this indicator even more," he stressed.
