Georgia has fully repaid its long-standing debts to Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, TASS reported with reference to the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, APA-Economics reports.
According to the information, data on the country’s external debt has been available since 2003, and by the end of that year, Georgia’s total public debt amounted to USD 1.56 billion, of which USD 156.9 million was owed to Russia.
It is reported that as of the end of August of the current year, Georgia’s total public debt amounted to USD 9.09 billion, which represents a decrease of USD 50 million compared to the previous month.
It is noted that Georgia’s debts to Azerbaijan and Armenia have recently been approximately equal and amounted to less than USD 1 million.
