Azerbaijan exports 300 million cubic meters of gas to Serbia since January

Azerbaijan started supplying natural gas to Serbia from January 2024, and approximately 300 million cubic meters of gas have been exported so far, said Finance Minister Sahil Babayev during his speech at the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia held in Belgrade, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that Azerbaijan’s State Oil Fund (SOFAZ) has an investment portfolio worth 72.7 million US dollars in Serbia, and the cooperation of SOCAR, EPS, and Srbijagas companies in the construction of a 500-megawatt combined gas-turbine power plant in the city of Niš will take the parties' energy partnership to a new level.

The minister emphasized that strengthening transport and logistics connections is a priority for both countries, and pointed out that new initiatives such as the transport corridors and the "Green Energy Corridor", announced within the framework of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and promising great prospects for the region, open up broad opportunities for cooperation.
