First life insurer set up in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based Ateshgah Sighorta Insurance Company has established the first life insurance company in the country.
Telet Safarov, the Deputy Chairman of Ateshgah Sighorta, said the new company was created through renaming Kavkaz Sighorta as Ateshgah Heyat Sighortasi.
Ateshgah Sighorta and Kavkaz Sighorta consolidated last month.
In January, Ateshgah transferred its life insurance and reinsurance contracts to Kavkaz Sighorta and received non-life insurance and reinsurance contracts in exchange.
Established in 1996, Ateshgah is owned by ISR Holding (49%), SOCAR (30%) and RAN Exim (21%). The insurer provides 4 compulsory and 18 voluntary types of insurance services.
