The administration of US President Donald Trump will legally commit nearly all of the $400 million allocated by Congress for military assistance to Ukraine before the end of the current fiscal year, Reuters reported, citing three sources.
The US fiscal year ends on September 30.
According to the report, commitments had been formalized for approximately $307 million of the total amount by the beginning of this week. The administration plans to complete the necessary procedures for the remaining $93 million by September 30.
Reuters noted that the funds do not have to be fully spent by that date. However, if the relevant contracts and commitments are not formalized before the end of the fiscal year, the funding could expire.
