Poland and Romania stepped up monitoring of their airspace overnight and in the morning amid Russian air attacks on Ukraine, APA reports.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced on the morning of September 30 that the country's military aircraft had been scrambled in connection with Russia's attack on regions of Ukraine.
In addition, ground-based air defense systems and radar reconnaissance assets were also mobilized in Poland.
According to the Romanian Ministry of Defense, on the night of September 29-30, radar systems detected an airborne object near Izmail moving from the direction of Ukraine's Odesa region toward the border with Romania.
In response, two Spanish Air Force F-18 fighter jets on combat duty as part of NATO's enhanced air policing mission were scrambled to monitor the situation.
