About 70 percent of the German population is against the provision of social assistance, called "citizen's allowance" (Bürgergeld), to refugees from Ukraine, according to a survey conducted by the INSA Institute for Social Research on behalf of the Bild newspaper, APA reports.
According to the survey results, only 17 percent of respondents believe that Ukrainian refugees living in Germany should receive Bürgergeld. 66 percent of respondents are against maintaining these payments.
Also, 62 percent of Germans believe that men who came to Germany from Ukraine during the war and are fit for military service should return home. Only 18 percent of respondents disagree with this view.
The survey was conducted on October 16–17 and 1,003 people participated.
