"Georgia is ready to cooperate closely with China and other countries participating in the Middle Corridor to achieve concrete and tangible results along the route," Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili said during her speech at the Global Sustainable Transport Forum held in China, APA's local bureau reports.
She stated that China is a key driving force in the development of the Middle Corridor and plays an important role in strengthening partnerships in Central Asia and the South Caucasus, as well as enhancing the region's transport links and connectivity.
The minister emphasized that Georgia is fully prepared to fulfill its commitments and is already actively working to implement them.
"Transit rail freight transportation in Georgia has increased by 14 percent. Such growth requires us to prepare for the next stage of the corridor's development. Our goal is to double the capacity of our maritime and railway networks and triple the overall capacity of the country's airport infrastructure," Mariam Kvrivishvili added.
