A major oil depot in Russia’s Samara region caught fire following a drone attack, APA reports, citing UNIAN.
According to the report, which referred to local Telegram channels, the Samara station is part of the Transneft system and covers an area of more than 216 hectares.
The facility contains 71 oil storage tanks with a total capacity of more than 1.6 million cubic meters.
Four major oil pipelines carrying crude from Western Siberia, Tatarstan, Orenburg and Kazakhstan are connected to the station.
In addition, a major fire was reported in Volgograd following drone attacks in an area where an oil refinery and the Kaustik chemical plant are located.
Volgograd Region Governor Andrey Bocharov confirmed that the region’s industrial infrastructure had come under a large-scale drone attack.
The Kaustik plant is located in Volgograd’s Krasnoarmeysk district.
The LUKOIL-owned Volgograd oil refinery is reported to have an annual processing capacity of around 15 million tonnes.
