A group of children from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region have been returned to the territory under Ukraine’s control, said Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, on his Telegram channel, APA reports.
According to Prokudin, the returned children are boys and girls aged between 7 and 14.
“Today those children are already safe on liberated Ukrainian soil, they are together with their families receiving aid and support, their documents are being restored and they are undergoing psychological rehabilitation,” emphasized Alexander Prokudin.
He noted that the return of the children was carried out within the framework of the "Bring Kids Back UA" initiative put forward by the President of Ukraine and with the support of the "Save Ukraine" charity organization.
At the same time, information released by the “Reuters” agency, citing a report from Yale University, states that more than 210 locations where Russia is holding Ukrainian children have been identified, and that Russia has so far illegally removed approximately 35,000 Ukrainian minors from the country.
The Russian side, however, denies taking the children against their will and claims that they were evacuated voluntarily from combat zones for safety reasons.
