Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump discussed Türkiye–US relations as well as regional and global issues during a telephone call.
The Turkish Presidential Administration announced the details of the conversation, APA’s Türkiye bureau reported.
Against the backdrop of tensions between Iran and the United States, Erdoğan stressed the importance of making maximum use of diplomatic opportunities. He also said Türkiye would continue supporting efforts aimed at achieving peace.
The Turkish president further noted that the Joint Defence Agreement signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would contribute to regional stability and security.
