“No agreement has yet been reached between the United States and Iran, but diplomatic contacts continue," said Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Sohail Mahmood in a statement to APA’s Türkiye bureau.
He noted that diplomatic ties are being maintained and efforts toward solutions are ongoing:
“This issue concerns the entire world, and we know that a two-week ceasefire was achieved as a result of the intervention of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, as well as the efforts of regional countries such as Türkiye and Egypt. Later, a round of talks was held in Islamabad. Efforts toward a diplomatic solution are continuing. If peace is achieved, it will have positive outcomes not only for regional peace and security, but also for the global economy and humanity as a whole. We hope that a world facing numerous active military conflicts will move away from confrontation and turn toward diplomatic solutions. Everyone contributing to this direction deserves appreciation. In particular, the initiatives of Pakistan, Türkiye and other countries are welcomed, and we hope these efforts will yield positive results for the world.”
