The Czech Armed Forces plan to purchase 3,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by 2028, according to Defense Minister Jaromír Zuna, the Czech news agency ČTK reported , Zuna.
"We are implementing five government contracts for the purchase of 3,000 UAVs for the Czech Army," the agency quoted the minister as saying. According to NATO data for 2025, the Czech Republic is among the alliance's member states with the highest rates of military modernization. In the long term, according to the minister, technology will ensure the complete replacement of manpower in military conflicts.
Zuna also emphasized that the Czech Republic will never intervene in major international conflicts. This postulate is supported by the size of the national army, which is entirely composed of contract soldiers.
