Foreigners with Schengen visa allowed 5-day visit to Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania
01 February 2008 12:04 (UTC +04:00)
The European Parliament gave the go-ahead for an extension of simplified controls of visas at the external frontiers of Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus. This system will enable these European Union (EU) Member States to recognise unilaterally certain documents issued by Schengen zone countries for third country nationals making visits of less than five days, APA Europe Bureau reports.
For the citizen of non EU countries travelling in the Schengen area has been simplified with the introduction of the Schengen visa. The citizens of foreign countries with Schengen visa may visit Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania for 5 days. The new rules will be temporary and only affect Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus until they join the Schengen area.
9 EU countries Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Slovenia joined Schengen agreement this year.
15 countries - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Netherlands, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Sweden joined the Schengen area before the above-said countries. /APA/
