APA’s Europe bureau reports author, professor Piotr Kvyatkevizh writes in the article that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who was chairing the summit, said the country’s oil production increased by 54% this year.
“The summit in Baku did not only focus on economic problems and oil. President Aliyev openly stated that political problems of the region as well as Azerbaijan’s security is the matter of urgency. Reminding that 20% of Azerbaijani territories have been occupied by Armenian Armed Forces the President said thousands of Azerbaijanis have been displaced as a result of ethnic cleansing policy of Armenians,” the article reads.
The author also touched on the speeches by Georgian and Ukrainian Presidents which also focused on political problems.
Prof. Kvyatkevizh comments n the article that President Ilham Aliyev’s starting his speech by rise of oil production was not by chance.
“He openly pointed out that Azerbaijan needs urgent help to solve the political problems. And the country is ready to worthily repay for the help. So, we were surprised to see reports “Azerbaijan could supply Poland with oil only after four years” in Polish press. However, there is no single sign in our diplomacy showing support for Azerbaijan regarding the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Poland’s support for energy security of Azerbaijan without supporting its territorial integrity would sound nothing but demagogy,” the author says.
The Tribune has been published in Poland since 1989. It is among the 10 most influential media outlets in the country. The newspaper is sold over 50,000 circulations. /APA/
