Wheat price imported by Azerbaijan decreased sharply

In January-June of this year, Azerbaijan imported 493 thousand 210 tons of wheat worth at USD 145 mln. 565 thousand, APA-Economics reports citing the State Customs Committee.

This indicator is 23% more or 92 thousand 462 tons more in terms of volume, and 1.8% or 2 mln. 691 thousand more in terms of amount compared with the same period of the previous year. During the first 6 months of 2022, 400 thousand 748 tons of wheat worth 142 million 965 thousand dollars were imported to Azerbaijan.

Note that the price of 1 ton of wheat brought to the country during the reporting period decreased by 17.2% or 61.6 dollars and was equal to 295.1 dollars (501.67 manats). This indicator was 356.7 dollars (606.39 manats) in the corresponding period of last year.

In the first 6 months of the current year, wheat import was equal to 1.78% of the total import of Azerbaijan.
