Volume of electronic purchases in Azerbaijan increased by more than 12%

In the first half of this year, the volume of electronic procurements amounted to 1,632.7 million manats, State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control told APA-Economics.

This figure is 12.2% higher compared to the same period last year.

According to the information, as a result of electronic procurements, the amount saved for the state budget increased by 38.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, reaching 329.2 million manats.

In the 6-month period, the average number of participants in procurement processes that were concluded was 3.7 overall — 4.3 for open tender procedures and 3.4 for request-for-quotation procedures. Compared to the corresponding period last year, the average number of participants in opened procurements increased by 2.8% overall, with a 7.5% increase in open tenders, while the indicator for quotation request procedures remained the same (3.4) as last year’s corresponding figure.

In addition, the Service reviewed 789 appeals regarding various obstacles created by procuring organizations and 239 appeals related to other issues. A total of 501 final protocols were annulled due to violations of legislation identified during the competitions.
