Value of hybrid cars imported to Azerbaijan exceeded $1.1 billion

During January-November 2025, a total of 104,404 cars worth 1 billion 998 million 854 thousand US dollars were imported to Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.

Compared to January-November 2024, the number of cars imported to the country increased by 25.9% or 21,478 units, and their value increased by 19.5% or 325.6 million dollars. In the corresponding period of 2024, 82,926 cars worth 1 billion 673 million 213.9 thousand US dollars were imported to Azerbaijan.

Note that the number of vehicles powered only by electric motors imported during the reporting period amounted to 1,861 units, which is 35.2% less than the corresponding period of last year.

Recall that during this period, 58,471 hybrid cars worth 1 billion 130.3 million US dollars were imported to Azerbaijan.

From January 1 next year, value-added tax (VAT) will be applied to the import and sale of hybrid and electric passenger cars.
