Azerbaijan continues to make progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but several reforms and changes are still needed, Hurshid Rustamov, an economist at the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Azerbaijan, during his speech at the "High-Level Strategic Prioritization" seminar on the "Framework Document for Cooperation on Sustainable Development (2026-2030) between the UN and Azerbaijan", APA-Economics reports.
He noted that one of these is related to economic challenges. It is important to increase export diversification and strengthen economic competitiveness.
Another issue is the challenges related to the human factor: "It is necessary to increase labor productivity and improve the quality of education."
H. Rustamov also added that additional measures should be taken for sustainable development in the field of environment and climate change.
