Rolls-Royce suspends deliveries of cars to Russia

The British automaker Rolls-Royce has suspended deliveries of cars to Russia, a company spokesman told RIA Novosti, APA -Economics reports

“The situation in the region remains uncertain. Under the current conditions, we are suspending the supply of vehicles to the Russian market. We continue to assess the situation, as well as possible further consequences for our business,” he said.

At the end of January, the company reported that Russia had become the largest market in Europe for sales of luxury Rolls-Royce cars. In 2021, the brand’s sales in the country for the first time exceeded the mark of 300 cars.

On February 24, Russia launched a military operation to demilitarize Ukraine. In response, Western countries have introduced a number of new anti-Russian sanctions. After that, many foreign companies suspended their work in the Russian Federation.

In particular, a number of automakers announced a temporary suspension of production and supplies to Russia due to the situation in Ukraine and problems with logistics. Among them are Volkswagen, Skoda, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche.
