In January- November 2024, Azerbaijan imported 60,464 tons of rice worth USD 62,757 million, APA-Economics reports citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
This volume represents an 18.7% (or 9,505 tons) increase compared to the same period last year, while the value rose by 35.4% (or USD 16,378 million). In January- November 2023, Azerbaijan imported 41,038 tons of rice worth USD 36,685 million.
Note that the average import price of 1 ton rice during the reporting period increased by 14%, reaching USD 1,038. This figure was USD 910 in the corresponding period of last year.
Recall that rice imports accounted for 0.33% of Azerbaijan's total imports during January-November 2024.
