In the first quarter of 2025 (January to March), the country produced a total of 29 billion 892.9 million manat in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is 0.3% more than the same period last year, APA reports.
The GDP production in Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 2.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.
Non-oil and gas sector: Industry production increased by 3.5%
Sectors involved in industry production, including industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs, produced 15.8 billion manat worth of industrial products in the first quarter of 2025. This represents a decrease of 2.7% compared to the same period in the previous year. Production in the oil and gas sector declined by 3.6%, while the non-oil and gas sector saw a 3.5% increase.
Non-oil exports up by 15%
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan's non-oil exports increased by 14.7%, reaching 771.9 million USD. The export of food products also rose by 15.1%, amounting to 224.7 million USD in the first three months of 2025.
Tax revenues from the non-oil and gas sector increased by nearly 11%
In the first quarter of this year, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy collected more than 3.2 billion manat in tax revenues from the non-oil and gas sector. Compared to the same period in 2024, tax revenues from this sector increased by 312 million manat, or 10.7%. Of the total taxes paid, 73.7% came from the non-oil and gas sector.
Private sector employment contracts near 1 million
As of April 1, 2025, the number of employment contracts in the private sector of the non-oil sector increased by 436,770 units since the beginning of 2019, reaching 976,692 contracts.
Investment in non-oil and gas sector declines by over 2%
In the first quarter of 2025, 3.47 billion manat was invested in fixed capital. Investments in the oil and gas sector decreased by 24.2%, while investments in the non-oil and gas sector fell by 2.4%.
