In January 2026, 1 billion 194 million cigarettes were produced in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
This figure is 38.1% higher compared to the same period last year.
As of February 1, finished product inventories at industrial enterprises amounted to 1 billion 264 million units.
In addition, 49.9 tons of tobacco were produced during the period, which is 66.8% less than in January 2025.
Last year, Azerbaijan imported 225 million cigarettes worth a total of $5.642 million.
Recall that in 2025, Azerbaijan exported 2 billion 959 million cigarettes worth $46.635 million to 11 countries.
