Number of cars imported to Azerbaijan decrease, while their value increase

During January-May of 2024, 35,570 cars worth USD 648 million 457 thousand were imported to Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.

Compared to January-May 2023, the number of cars imported to Azerbaijan decreased by 11.7% or 4,694 units and its value increased by 6% or USD 36.5 million. In the corresponding period of 2023, 40,264 cars worth USD 611 million 967 thousand were imported to Azerbaijan.

Note that during the reporting period, the number of imported vehicles powered by an electric motor increased by 54% or 438 units compared to the corresponding period of last year and amounted to 1250 cars.
