In 2025, Azerbaijan imported 897 tons of lamb and mutton from Mongolia, worth 3.6 million US dollars, APA-Economics reports, citing the report of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, meat imports from Mongolia increased by 77% in volume and 77.8% in value compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In 2024, Azerbaijan imported 506.4 tons of lamb and mutton worth 2.025 million US dollars.
During the reporting period, the average import price of mutton brought from Mongolia to Azerbaijan amounted to 6.8 manats.
It should be noted that last year, the total volume of imports from Mongolia to Azerbaijan amounted to 4.0159 million US dollars, while exports from Azerbaijan to Mongolia totaled 282.9 thousand US dollars.
Azerbaijan mainly exported chocolate and chocolate products, flour-based confectionery, sweet dry biscuits, apples, pears, and grapes to Mongolia.
