"Currently, the most important issue is the opening of the Zangazur corridor", said Yakub Sefer, the Chief Commercial Counselor of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
He said that the opening of the corridor will have a significant impact on transit shipments and the expansion of trade relations.
"In this regard, the Alat economic zone is very important, and the region will become a logistics center. However, it is necessary to improve the port infrastructure in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in order to strengthen the infrastructure of the corridor. Another issue is the renewal of the roll-on/roll-off ships at the Alat port. The ships currently in use are very old," Yakub Sefer added.
