On October 9, 2025, the leading golf clubs of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan – Dreamland Golf Club (Baku) and Zhailjau Golf Resort (Almaty) – signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation aimed at developing golf in the region and strengthening tourism, APA-Economics reports.
This cooperation will bring new momentum to the regional development of golf. Within the framework of the memorandum, members of both clubs will gain the opportunity to use club services, competitions, and green areas on preferential terms reciprocally.
The signed document is not limited to tournaments only. The clubs also envisage the exchange of knowledge and experience in golf course management, digital reservation systems, tournament organization, and sustainable development. Joint seminars, training sessions, and local professional staff development will be one of the main pillars of this cooperation.
Dreamland Golf Club and Zhailjau Golf Resort emphasize mutual respect, equality, and transparency as the main principles of the cooperation. Thanks to this collaboration, golfers from both Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will gain broader opportunities, and the region will hold a strong position on the global golf map.
Ahmad Gozal, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Azersun Holding, stated:
“This cooperation will serve as a new bridge not only between the two clubs but also between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan as a whole. We believe that the development of golf tourism will lead to the region rising to a brighter position on the international sports map. The involvement of youth in this sport and the organization of new tournaments will shape the healthy and professional golfers of the future.”
