Georgia expands free trade zone on the border with Azerbaijan

The Georgian government has issued new permits for free trade and warehousing activities near the “Red Bridge” border checkpoint located on the border with Azerbaijan, APA’s local bureau reports.

The permits apply to land plots of 162 and 156 square meters situated in the green zone.

On one plot, the construction, equipping, and operation of a warehouse in accordance with Georgian legislation will be allowed, while on the other plot, the operation of free trade facilities and the implementation of warehouse operations will be possible. The expansion of duty-free trade zones along the border with Azerbaijan is also envisaged.

The same permits for the specified economic activities have also been issued for two land plots of 211 and 124 square meters near the “Sadakhli” border checkpoint on the Georgia–Armenia border.
