In the last three years, the complexity of the global geopolitical situation and the resulting uncertainty in the global commodity markets have created new opportunities and challenges for our national economy, said Assistant to Azerbaijani President, Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahmar Movsumov as he delivered speech during Customs-Business Forum 2023 organized by the State Customs Committee in Baku, APA reports.
He noted that geopolitical tensions, which threaten to break up the global trade system, cause concern for Azerbaijan.
"Taking this into account, one of the important directions of the socio-economic development strategy adopted by President Ilham Aliyev is ensuring the competitiveness of the economy, realizing the transition to an export-oriented economic model, organizing the production of high-tech products and having a special share in the global value chain" - Shahmar Movsumov added.
