Deputy Minister of Economy Rovnag Abdullayev took part in the 41st session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) held in Istanbul, Türkiye, the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.
It was emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to deepening multilateral cooperation and economic integration with the OIC member states. At the event, information was provided on the measures implemented in our country in the direction of diversification of export markets and expansion of non-oil and gas exports, as well as on projects that increase access to European and OIC markets. It was noted that the implementation of exchange programs for small and medium business exporters, and the implementation of joint projects in the fields of industry, renewable energy, agriculture, and other areas can contribute to further strengthening of existing economic and trade relations.
The favorable business and investment environment formed in our country, prospective areas for cooperation, the potential of industrial zones, as well as tax and customs concessions applied in the liberated territories and other incentive mechanisms were brought to the attention of the event participants.
At the session held with the participation of heads of relevant state institutions of the member countries of the Organization, the implementation of the “OIC-2025: Programme of Action,” the impact of global economic tendencies on OIC member countries, the development of trade relations within the OIC framework, the enhancement of the role of the private sector in economic cooperation, the deepening of financial cooperation, the improvement of transport and communication infrastructure, and other current issues were discussed. An exchange of views was held on the topic of preparing and improving export strategies in the OIC member countries.
