EU is ready to support private sector in Azerbaijan

"Azerbaijani government prioritizes economic diversification, attaches great importance to development of private sector and entrepreneurship. Great progress has been achieved over the recent years. Despite it, small and medium entrepreneurship has passed through a very difficult period as a result of pandemic not only in Azerbaijan but also in the whole world," said Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko while his speech at the event on finals of "Support to Azerbaijani Government in field of creation of a more favorable environment for small and medium entrepreneurship and increase of competitiveness" and "Support to development of entrepreneurship in rural areas", which are financed by the European Union (EU), APA-Economics reports.

"Businesses, which mostly suffered from pandemic in the country, have been presented economic support package that makes up 4% of GDP and tax breaks, loan opportunities have been improved. The European Union is also ready to support provision of access of private sector to finance," Peter Michalko noted.
