The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Business Forum, themed “Promotion of Investment and Trade as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development in the ECO Region,” has started in Shusha, APA reports.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Elnur Aliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Economy, stated that Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with ECO countries has increased by 10 percent and has already reached 3.5 billion dollars.
Elnur Aliyev noted that more than 10,000 companies from ECO countries operate in Azerbaijan, and that over 22 billion dollars in investments have been made in Azerbaijan by ECO countries during the past period.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that ECO countries are already participating in the restoration of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories: “Together, we can turn our shared vision into sustainable development. Azerbaijan is ready to use our joint potential for the benefit of our peoples.”
Information about the Alat Free Economic Zone was presented at the forum. The opening ceremony concluded with a family photo.
