The Turkic world is an important geography in terms of electronic cargo transportation, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary-General of Organization of Turkic States (OTS) said at the 10th Meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the Turkic States Organization in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
The Secretary-General noted that, against the backdrop of global challenges, cross-border trade faces challenges, including increasing transportation costs, long distances, extensive document checks, and delays in customs and transit procedures.
According to him, "addressing these challenges is vital for the economic sustainability and development of our region. In line with our strategic document, Vision for the Turkic World 2040, the OTS is committed to facilitating customs and trade processes between member states and along the Middle Corridor. We will fulfill our commitment to digitalizing transport and transit procedures by launching phased digitalization between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the International Road Transport Union," he noted.
