A meeting was held at the State Maritime and Port Agency with a delegation led by Christian Schilling, Executive Director of the German Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry Association, Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, told APA.
The event was attended not only by German business representatives but also by officials from the German Embassy in Azerbaijan and the German-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, Eldar Majidov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Maritime and Port Agency, discussed targeted measures being implemented to develop a competitive maritime transport sector and to improve the relevant legislation.
In addition, discussions were held with German companies on potential areas of cooperation amid the growing volume of cargo transport along the Middle Corridor.
During the meeting, German business representatives had their questions addressed regarding the activities of classification societies, flag state requirements, state regulation of port operations, marine environmental protection, shipbuilding, and the development of port infrastructure.
At the end of the event, participants were given a tour of the State Maritime and Port Agency’s Ship Traffic Management Center.
