In the January-March period of this year, the value of goods sold and services provided to meet consumer demand in Azerbaijan reached AZN 18.5 billion, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
This figure represents a 5.1% increase compared to the same period last year, based on comparable prices.
During this period, 78.9% of the total value came from retail trade turnover, 18.1% from paid services to the population, and 3% from public catering turnover.
In the first quarter, the value of goods sold and services provided by enterprises operating in the non-state sector increased by 4.9% year-on-year, totaling AZN 17.7 billion, with 44.9% of this value formed through the activities of individual entrepreneurs.
During the reporting period, the average consumer spent AZN 602.3 per month, which is 54 AZN more than the previous year in nominal terms.
