Common Turkic Patent Organization proposed at OTS ministerial meeting in Baku

The Working Group on Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has proposed the establishment of a Common Turkic Patent Organization (CTPO), APA-Economics reports.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, made the statement at the 2nd Meeting of Ministers of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Baku.

He noted that, considering that intellectual property underpins the development of innovation, science, and industry, strengthening mutual cooperation in this area carries strategic importance:

“At the same time, the initiative to establish the Turkic States Metrology Organization (TURKMET), proposed within the framework of the 10th Summit of the OTS held in Astana in November 2023, is of significant importance for the development of industry and technology. The establishment of TURKMET is essential for deepening regional economic integration and strengthening scientific research and innovation potential.”
