Azerbaijani investors have easier access to African and Middle Eastern markets through Türkiye, as well as to the markets of 27 European Union countries within the Customs Union, Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said at the II Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to the minister, the volume of mutual investments between Azerbaijan and Türkiye has reached 39-40 billion dollars. Currently, thousands of Azerbaijani companies operate in Türkiye, and thousands of Turkish companies in Azerbaijan, which shows the depth of economic relations.
Ö. Bolat noted that the increase in investments has a direct impact on the expansion of trade, and the main goal of the forum is to create conditions for further increase in mutual investments. He said that the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards diversifying the economy, especially in areas outside the energy sector, were positively assessed.
The minister emphasized that the scale of the Turkish economy and the level of integration into international markets open up new opportunities for Azerbaijani businessmen, and this potential should be used more widely.
