"Currently, 20 active companies with Moldovan capital are registered in Azerbaijan, operating in sectors such as transport, industry, construction, trade, and services," said Rovnag Abdullayev, Deputy Minister of Economy, at the Azerbaijan-Moldova business forum, APA reports.
He noted positive developments in tourism as well: “In 2024, the tourist flow from Moldova to Azerbaijan increased by approximately 12%.”
“Our national air carrier AZAL operates five regular flights per week on the Baku-Chisinau-Baku route. Starting from May, flights will be operated daily, which will further boost business and tourism ties,” the deputy minister added.
Mr. Abdullayev also highlighted positive trends in trade turnover: “According to last year’s data, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Moldova reached $10.1 million. Despite certain fluctuations in 2024, we have managed to shift the situation in a positive direction. In January–February of this year, trade turnover increased by 26.6%, reaching $1.3 million.”
