More than 2,100 companies with Russian capital have been registered in Azerbaijan, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, during his speech at the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia held in the city of Zangilan, APA reports.
“We note with satisfaction the positive dynamics in investment cooperation. The total volume of Russian investments directed into Azerbaijan’s economy amounts to 10.7 billion US dollars, of which 2.9 billion US dollars accounts for the non-oil sector,” he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that, as of April 1, 2026, more than 2,100 commercial entities with Russian capital have been registered in Azerbaijan, and more than 1,400 of them are actively operating.
Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that these companies are represented in key sectors of the economy, including industry, agriculture, transport, construction, trade, and services.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that all necessary conditions have been created in Azerbaijan for the efficient and comfortable operation of Russian investors: “We invite Russian companies to take a more active part in investment projects implemented in the liberated territories. A special tax regime is applied in these areas for a period of 10 years, which envisages exemption from profit, property, land, and simplified taxes, as well as exemption from VAT and customs duties on the import of machinery, equipment, and raw materials. In addition, benefits are also applied in mandatory social insurance.”
