Azerbaijan unveils volume of trade turnover with CIS countries

In January-October of this year, trade transactions worth USD 5 billion 701 million 705 thousand took place between Azerbaijan and the CIS countries, Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.

According to the Committee, this is 9,5% more in comparison with the corresponding period last year.

During the reporting period, trade operations with CIS countries made up 31,84% of the country's total trade turnover.

During this period, Azerbaijan's trade turnover by descending value was 3 billion 942 million 426 thousand USD with Russia (14.5% more compared to the previous year), 380 million 144 thousand USD with Ukraine (33.3% more), 337 million 715 thousand USD with Turkmenistan (52.5% less), 403 million 960 thousand USD with Belarus (47.7% more), 393 million 831 thousand USD with Kazakhstan (38.7% more), 196 million 122 thousand USD with Uzbekistan (37.2% more), 33 million 981 thousand USD with Kyrgyzstan (27.7% less), 8 million 342 thousand USD with Moldova (37% less), and 5 million 177 thousand USD with Tajikistan (0.1% less).

In ten months, the value of Azerbaijan's exports to CIS countries increased by 5%, reaching 1 billion 405 million 330 thousand USD.

During this period, Azerbaijan exported 972 million 509 thousand USD to Russia (1.2% more compared to the previous year), 146 million 676 thousand USD to Ukraine (54.7% more), 71 million 737 thousand USD to Turkmenistan (1.2% less), 39 million 994 thousand USD to Belarus (62.6% more), 107 million 747 thousand USD to Kazakhstan (23.2% more), 31 million 451 thousand USD to Uzbekistan (19.9% less), 26 million 814 thousand USD to Kyrgyzstan (39.3% less), 4 million 86 thousand USD to Moldova (57% less), and 4 million 316 thousand USD to Tajikistan (6.2% less).

CIS countries accounted for 6.18% of Azerbaijan's total exports, including 4.28% for Russia, 0.64% for Ukraine, 0.32% for Turkmenistan, 0.18% for Belarus, 0.47% for Kazakhstan, 0.14% for Uzbekistan, 0.12% for Kyrgyzstan, 0.02% for Moldova, and 0.02% for Tajikistan.

In January-October, the value of Azerbaijan's imports from CIS countries increased by 11.1%, reaching 4 billion 296 million 375 thousand USD.

During this period, Azerbaijan imported 2 billion 969 million 917 thousand USD from Russia (19.7% more compared to the previous year), 233 million 468 thousand USD from Ukraine (22.7% more), 265 million 981 thousand USD from Turkmenistan (58.3% less), 363 million 966 thousand USD from Belarus (46.3% more), 286 million 84 thousand USD from Kazakhstan (45.6% less), 164 million 671 thousand USD from Uzbekistan (58.8% more), 26 million 814 thousand USD from Kyrgyzstan (a 2-fold increase), 4 million 256 thousand USD from Moldova (13.9% more), and 861 thousand USD from Tajikistan (48.2% more).

CIS countries accounted for 25.83% of Azerbaijan's total imports, including 17.85% from Russia, 1.4% from Ukraine, 1.6% from Turkmenistan, 2.19% from Belarus, 1.72% from Kazakhstan, 0.99% from Uzbekistan, 0.04% from Kyrgyzstan, 0.03% from Moldova, and 0.01% from Tajikistan.
