Reforms aimed at combating tax evasion stimulate the modernization of the tax system in Azerbaijan, and its integration into the global economy, said the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Shahin Bagirov at the "Tax Service – 25: Sustainable Development and Effective Transformation" Forum held today, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that significant steps have been taken to prevent the shadow economy, which poses a serious threat to Azerbaijan's economic security, and to legalize business activities and income.
"Besides the continuous improvement of tax legislation, the increase in the knowledge and skills of tax service employees through the focus on training and process development has contributed to the more effective functioning of the State Tax Service," Shahin Bagirov said.
