As a result of customs control measures carried out by the staff of the Main Customs Directorate for Air Transport, the illegal smuggling of gold bars across the customs border was prevented, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.
It was noted that a customs inspection was applied to the hand luggage of an Azerbaijani citizen arriving on the Dubai-Baku flight. During the inspection, 37 “Pamp” brand gold bars with a total approximate weight of 365 grams hidden from customs control, were discovered in the person's jacket and handbag.
