In January of this year, Azerbaijan imported 137 units of hybrid cars (vehicles powered by an internal combustion engine as well as an electric motor) worth USD 10,271 mln. (AZN 17,461 mln.), according to the calculations of APA-Economics based on the information of the State Statistics Committee.
The import of hybrid cars increased by 2,5 times in quantity, in comparison to the same month of 2021, and by 4,4 times in value.
90,9% of imported hybrid cars were brought from Japan.
Thus, Azerbaijan imported 1 034 units of hybrid cars worth USD 7,632 mln (AZN 12,975 mln) from Japan in January 2022. This indicator is 2,4 times more in quality in comparison to the same month of the previous year and is 4,2 times more in value.
