Azerbaijan returned nearly AZN 9.82 million in VAT to foreign citizens in January–November 2025

In January–November 2025, the amount of VAT (“tax free”) refunded from the state budget for goods purchased for personal consumption by foreign citizens within the territory of the republic amounted to 9 million 819.7 thousand manats, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.

It was noted that during the reporting period, the volume of VAT refunded by authorized banks to consumers for goods purchased (excluding oil and gas products, automobiles, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products) from individuals engaged in retail trade or catering activities in the country, as well as for services provided in the fields of theater performances, film screenings, museum visits, and symphonic orchestra concerts, and for medical services rendered by medical institutions and individual private medical practitioners, amounted to 172 million 323.4 thousand manats.
