Officials of Air Transport Head Customs Department prevented an attempt to illegally bring gold bars into the country, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.
It was noted that the luggage of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan arriving on the Dubai-Baku flight was inspected using a stationary X-ray device, and as suspicious images were observed on the monitor, the hand luggage was subjected to a customs inspection. During the inspection, 44 "PAMP" brand gold bars, weighing a total of 372.5 grams, were discovered in one of the bags, which had not been previously declared to the customs authorities.
