Within the framework of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) held in Baku, Orkhan Nazarly, head of the State Tax Service, met with Baiba Šmite-Roķe, Director General of the State Revenue Service of the Republic of Latvia, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
According to the information, the current state and development prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia in the field of taxation were discussed during the meeting. The parties exchanged views on the institutional resilience of tax systems, the development of digital platforms, and the improvement of tax control and analysis methodologies.
Orkhan Nazarly emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with Latvia in terms of exchanging practical experience and technological innovations, noting that concrete initiatives may be proposed in the future to expand mutual relations between the two tax administrations.
In turn, Baiba Šmite-Roķe, sharing information about innovative tools applied in Latvia, stated that Azerbaijan’s initiatives in this field are being closely monitored and stressed the importance of establishing bilateral cooperation platforms and maintaining continuous expert-level contacts.
