Azerbaijan imports more than 1.5 mln. smartphones

In 2024, 1 million 509 thousand 802 smartphones worth USD 439 million 952 thousand were imported to Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports citing its calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee.

This indicator is 19.2% or 242 thousand 763 units more in terms of quantity in comparisom with the previous year, and 31.6% or USD 105.6 million more in terms of value. Thus, 1 million 267 thousand smartphones worth USD 334 million 346.8 thousand were imported to the country in 2023.

The average import price of one smartphone imported to the country during the reporting period was AZN 495.4. This indicator was AZN 448.6 in the previous year.

During this period, smartphones were imported to the country mainly from China (1,200,754), Vietnam (229,799), India (74,658), the United States (3,225), and the United Arab Emirates (416). This product was imported from China for AZN 476.7, from Vietnam for AZN 582.5, from India for AZN 450, from the United States for AZN 1,925, and from the United Arab Emirates for AZN 816.7.

It should be noted that during the reporting period, 1,203 smartphones worth USD 225,500 were exported from Azerbaijan. The average price of this product exported to Switzerland (18), the Czech Republic (610), and Hong Kong (571) was AZN 318.6.
