In the period from January to March 2025, Azerbaijan imported 287,995 tons of wheat worth USD 62 million 245 thousand, APA-Economics reports citing the State Customs Committee.
This figure represents an increase of 35.9% or 76 thousand tons in volume and a 29.5% increase or USD 14.2 million in value compared to the first quarter of 2024.
During the reporting period, wheat imports accounted for 1.1% of Azerbaijan's total imports.
Note that the average price of one ton of imported wheat during this period decreased by 4.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, reaching AZN 367.4.
